Mod 2

1. In Mod 2 I have learned a lot about health and ways to stay healthy. I also learned a lot about psychological health. While reading the first chapter, I learned about the differences between health and wellness as well as ways to improve my daily life and help to live a healthier way. I learned how my family history could effect types of sicknesses I could get depending on the circumstances. I like how this chapter talked about The Transtheorical Model of Behavior Change because I am learning about that in other classes. This model can make or break someone's attempt at change or success.
Chapter 2 opened my eyes to more of the psychological issues people could have. While reading about how stress can effect someone's daily life, I think about my mother and how she is on medicine to help with stress because she gets a lot of anxiety and panic attacks. This chapter opened my eyes to all of the different things that could lead up to psychological issues. Before this chapter I did not really think a lot about these illness's and what causes or helps people cope with them. I am nit very interested in them and hope we learn more about select ones.

At the end of perzi part 1, the question was What are some things you could do to stay healthy?
Well, I believe that I could get more regular check ups at the doctor and I could talk to someone about proper nutrition. I need to start eating healthier and exercise more which will help me a lot with staying healthy. I also think I sleep a little too much so I want to start going to bed earlier and maybe start waking up earlier and have a better start to my day.

2. I believe that I put the time and effort into this module because I dedicated select time to focus  on the reading and not to just read because I had to. I made sure that I understood what I was learning and if I didn't I would ask myself questions and try and find the answers in the reading. I tried my best on the quiz and was determined to do good. I would advise people to read before the module opens because it is better to focus more on the assignments when the module opens rather than trying to rush and read when things are due soon.

3.Health Literacy: the ability to evaluate and understand health information and to make informed choices or your health care.
-I learned that health literacy could be extremely helpful when trying to understand a diagnosis and how they could effect you or people around you. I also learned that health literacy helps evaluate all the health information that I could look up on the internet or read in books or magazines.
Cue Control: A behavior change technique in which the individual learns to change the stimuli that provoked the lapse.
-I learned that with cue control people could teach themselves when they are more likely to lapse than other times and what types of things to stay away from so you don't lapse.
Health Disparities: Gaps in the rate and burden of disease and the access to and quality of health care among various population groups.
-I learned that health disparities include groups based on characteristics linked to them being discriminated against or excluded.
